GOAL FOR THE NEXT WEEKS
I want to create either a suit that reflects my personal style or a dressy-casual outfit inspired by my comic—blending elements of streetwear and storytelling to bring these two passions and worlds together
My name is Menelek
I’m Menelek, a 17-year-old artist and designer with a passion for storytelling through fashion, art, and writing. My style is heavily influenced by jazz, classic R&B, and the elegance of suits and timeless aesthetics.
Growing up, I wasn’t exposed to much of modern media—instead, I was raised on the soulful sounds of Anita Baker, the wisdom of artists like Common, and the legacy of my grandfather, who was also an artist.
Because I didn’t see myself in the media around me, I began creating my own—designing comics, writing books, and crafting fashion that reflects my identity. My goal is to blend classic culture with modern expression, bridging the gap between formality and streetwear, heritage and innovation.
I create not just to stand out, but to carry forward the values, history, and creativity that shaped me. Everything I design has a story—and every story is rooted in truth.
